Fans of QC Spa rejoice! Get on the ferry to Governors Island and prepare for a close getaway to the expansion with more relaxation rooms and amenities.
The new expansion is Building 111, and one-third of the 15,000 sq ft. multi-level space is Casa QC Bistro. The eatery is the heart of the Spa, and it’s designed to have the rustic comforts of a traditional Italian kitchen. Yet, it has a certain flair, as the design is inspired by the Italian Renaissance of the 1960s.
Dine and drink in your robe at this 5,000-square-foot space! Part of the dining experience includes the Relax and Gusto buffet which includes hot and cold dishes. Choose from a variety of light bites such as artisanal cheeses, a refreshing salad bar, fresh seasonal fruits, and more!
If you were in the expansion’s new Ice Room, you might want to warm up with comforting soups, pasta, frittatas and more. Of course, you can indulge in desserts too (we loved the chocolate cake and sipping on their Aperol Spritz)!
Of course, it’s not only about the food and drinks. The beginning of Building 111 is the Aqua Level which is a modern take of the space’s connection to Ancient Roman Baths.
QC Spa is known for its views and in the new Horizon Room, there are East River views to be had while snacking on nori. When you’re not taking in the scenery, close your eyes and enjoy the seaweed eye patches!
Relax in other playfully themed spaces such as the Balloon Room and the Butterfly Room where the decor is whimsical and nostalgic. Soothe yourself to sleep in the Dream Room, equipped with six waterbeds!
Take a deep inhale in the tranquil Lavender Room. There is a hydrating lavender foot mask and guided massage with wooden foot rollers to enjoy.
There’s more to come as other rooms are expected to open later this year! The Salt Room features pink Himalayan sea salt and is supposed to replicate inhaling ocean air and promote calmness. Another earthy space includes the Soil and Sea Rooms which include two saunas varying in temperatures.
A 5-hour Escape Entrance starts at $124, while a Sunset Entrance (5 p.m. to 10 or 11 p.m.) starts at $98. Professional massages and food are purchased separately. We can’t wait to do more relaxing at QC Spa this season!
