Cardi B has been on quite the run lately.
Not only did she release her newest album AM I THE DRAMA? last Friday, and even announced a 2026 tour in support…she’s even been seen around New York City like at the Queens Center Mall on Sunday and at a bodega in Washington Heights last week.
Turns out she’s got one more surprise in store, as she’s officially set to headline this weekend’s Global Citizen Festival on September 27th in Central Park.
The news comes after the previous scheduled headliner, The Weeknd, was forced to drop out due to personal reasons.
“I regret to share that, due to personal reasons, I am unable to perform at Global Citizen,” he wrote on social media on Monday.
“Thank you to my fans for taking action with them, as I believe in their mission deeply.”
Meanwhile, New York native Cardi B posted on her feeds the joy she has for this weekend, “Central Park, I’m coming for you!!! I can’t wait to be home in New York, and to bring my new songs and all the DRAMA to the Global Citizen Festival. This one’s not like other music festivals—this one is about coming together to help children around the world, and I’m so proud to support such an important cause. New York City—see you Saturday. Let’s get it!!!”
Cardi B is no stranger to the festival either, she actually performed at the festival back in 2018, right after she dropped her debut album Invasion of Privacy.
The Global Citizen Festival is a yearly music event that aims to inspire action to end extreme poverty, tackle climate change, and support sustainable development around the world.
Longtime Global Citizen Ambassador Hugh Jackman is set to host it, and other performers on the bill include Shakira, Tyla, Ayra Starr, Mariah the Scientist, and more.
Fans can attend the concert for FREE, simply by “taking action for great causes”—which includes signing petitions, sharing messages, or volunteering with local organizations.
If you can’t make it, the whole festival will be streaming live on YouTube, Apple Music, the Apple TV app, iHeartRadio and other outlets this Saturday.
And if you want to release your tickets for this year’s festival, the festival is giving you a chance to do so in return for chance to claim a pair of tickets to next year’s festival.
