Caprese salad is the quintessential Italian antipasto, combining fresh mozz, tomatoes, and sweet basil, and while these ingredients are usually presented as a salad, what if we told you you could now have your caprese and drink it too?!
Salivating at the thought? Yeah, so are we.
NoHo’s Jac’s on Bond–from the team that brought NYC Pebble Bar, Ray’s, and Georgia Room–recently introduced a new martini program to their cocktail menu, and let’s just say we have a feeling the martini is going to be the new summer go-to.
The program features fresh, seasonal, and unexpected takes on the most frequently ordered martinis, ranging from classics to mindfully crafted modern concoctions, and aims to redefine traditional offerings through imagination and innovation.
And considering the program includes a caprese martini, we’re all about it.
The Caprese Martini combines olive oil, tomato, and basil-infused Grey Goose vodka with Lustau blanco, and balsamic vinegar–and what’s created is the most innovative cocktail we’ve seen in a while.
And the Caprese Martini isn’t the only ‘tini shaking up their cocktail menu.
There’s also the Langer’s TiNiJuana, created with Avion Reposado, Cocchi Americano, Cappelletti, and Maldon Salt.
“We designed the Tinijuana to provide an answer to the disappointed requests for a tequila martini, mixing aperitivo and tequila that packs a punch while still crushable. It’s the right combination of zesty, spicy, and not overly sweet…and is full of flavor yet still easy to consume….a perfect summer martini if I do say so myself,” says Head Bartender Trevor Langer.
The Schwarzwald Wasser perfectly combines fruity, spicy, and herbaceous flavors, by combining Monkey 47, Carpano Dry, and Bianco Vermouth.
“The simplicity of Schwarzwald Wasser produces an elegant result, and blending it with Monkey 47 German gin elevates this cocktail to the next level,” says Langer.
And finally, for a sweet finish and the perfect pick-me-up for those not looking to end their night any time soon is the Jac’s Espresso Martini, made with Absolut Elyx, Small-Batch Espresso, and Vanilla.
“The Jac’s Espresso Martini contains freshly brewed small-batch espresso, house-made vanilla bean syrup, and luxurious Absolut Elyx, making it a drink that needs no further explanation,” says Langer.
Our suggestion? Order one of each and then finish it all off with the dessert menu’s newest edition–Strawberry Creamsicle Pie, an iteration of the complementary Orange Creamsicle Pie.
Negroni Sbagliato, who? We’ve officially declared that this is the summer of the martini. So, without further ado, cheers!
