2. The Slipper Room
The Slipper Room has been showcasing the very best of New York’s comedy, sideshow, magic, strip tease, and circus since 1999. It’s located on the Lower East Side and hosts weekly performances and has been visited by Lady Gaga, U2, and many more over the years. Being the first venue in NYC built specifically for burlesque, it’s no surprise why their weekly shows like “The Glitter Gutter” and “Slipper Sundays” are so popular. 3. House of Yes
House of Yes is one our favorite nightclubs in NYC, and they host burlesque-style shows nearly every night of the week. Their shows are truly a spectacle see…truly living up to their “temple of expression dedicated to connection, creativity and celebrating life” mantra. 4. Company XIV
Company XIV puts on an incredible burlesque show in Brooklyn called “Cocktail Magique.” The New York Theatre Guide has called it “one of the city’s most spectacular, fun, and unique nights out”… and we have to agree. The sultry variety show consists of a full performance as well as tantalizing cocktails and small bites…with some libations even poured by the dancers themselves! 5. Duane Park
Duane Park is NYC’s only burlesque supper club, and features all kinds of burlesque shows including themed performances Tuesday–Thursday and full-scale classic burlesque shows on Fridays and Saturdays. In terms of what you can expect, you’ll probably see some aerials, a hydraulic stage, fire-eaters, sword swallowers, and more…plus a divine meal that can range from brunch to a 4 course meal. One of our favorite gin bars in NYC, Bathtub Gin, is a 1920’s-inspired speakeasy where burlesque comes to life on Tuesdays and Sundays.
