After calling NYC home for the last 77 years, Burger Heaven will be closing its doors for good on Friday, February 28.
According to a recent report by the New York Times, the diner-style burger chain will be closing it’s final restaurant location due to things like food trucks, delivery services, and health-conscious dietary changes. Burger Heaven, which first opened in 1943, has gone through four generations of family ownership and has become an unofficial landmark on the Upper East Side.
Burger Heaven once had six locations in Manhattan and, as the NYT mentions, was even a go-to spot for the likes of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Barbara Walter.
