If bumper cars on ice haven’t made their way onto your seasonal bucket list, you’re doing the cold weather all wrong.
The winterized amusement park staple first made its debut at Winter Village at Bryant Park nearly six years ago, and since then, it’s become a highly-popular tradition in NYC.
Once the magic of the holidays fades, don’t let the cold temperatures deter you from an adventure: the bumper cars are calling.
Bumper cars on ice are back in January
Don’t fall for the cliché that January is bleak — especially when you have awesome entertainment options like this.
From January 9th to February 28th, New Yorkers will have an opportunity to score 10-minute rides on the ice. New tickets will become available on a rolling and first come, first served basis, according to the park.
A few things to note before bumping and gliding:
- Bumper Car rides are 10 minutes long on a first-come, first-served basis within a 45-minute booking window
- Bumper cars on ice are available for those who are 7 and up
- Participants must wear closed-toe shoes
- Participants must sign waivers; those 18 and younger will have a guardian sign
- No more than one person per car
- No mobile phones or cameras are permitted during the rides
Although you’re able to reserve a spot upon arrival in Bryant Park, you’re strongly suggested to plan ahead — these babies are popular.
As a special treat this year, all those heading to Midtown will also be able to enjoy the park’s slew of Olympic-themed activities, including game screenings at The Lodge and photo opps! inside a genuine Team USA Bobsled from Lake Placid!
