As we cruise through the brrr months here in our favorite city, we can’t help but get excited about the holiday plans on the horizon. Trust us, we’re not rushing the days of pumpkin spice lattes, Halloween costumes, and all things autumn. But when you live in a city practically synonymous with holiday magic, can you really blame us for getting our calendars out a little early?
Speaking of iconic New York City traditions, one of the city’s most beloved holiday destinations has officially announced a date for its annual tree lighting ceremony. The festivities are returning to Bryant Park, where the beloved Winter Village opens its doors today, October 28, transforming the Midtown oasis into a winter wonderland complete with an ice skating rink, more than 180 Holiday Shops, and plenty of seasonal treats to get you in the spirit.
The free celebration will feature festive performances, with more details about this year’s host and ice skating lineup still to come. Whether you’re already counting down to Christmas or simply looking for an excuse to sip hot chocolate and soak up some holiday cheer, this is one date worth saving.
