Bryant Park is bringing back it’s Winter Carnival for the fourth year, and for the third year in a row, EverBlock is charged with delivering a magical “ice” castle… get ready for some glorious selfies in your very own winter wonderland.
New York City looks magical in the Winter, at least until the snow turns to brown sludge and the influx of tourists lead to overflowing trash mountains, but for a few glorious minutes, the city shines. One of the cities newest winter traditions, the Bryant Park Winter Carnival, returns on Friday, January 26, and it’s bringing back it’s amazing “Ice Castle.”
Last years “Ice Castle,” designed by EverBlock for the 2nd year running, created a 10ft castle with their modular building blocks exceeding their first years offering. If this is a trend we can expect something truly massive this year. Here’s a video of last years construction:
The Bryant Park Winter Carnival kicks off on Friday, January 26 at 6 pm with opening night ice-skating performance by two-time Olympian Johnny Weir (more details here) and a whole host of champion skaters, with a synchronized skating presentation by The Skyliners.
Before the Carnival comes to a close on Sunday, February 4, we will see the return of some of the carnivals past favorites; the Brewhouse, curling, and Silent Disco. Bryant Park is also introducing some new attractions like broomball, SkateFest, puppet shows for the kids, and much more! Get a full rundown of Carnival events HERE.
The best news? All activities are the activities are FREE (although you WILL have to pay $20 for skate rentals)
