You know summer is on the horizon when Bryant Park Movie Nights are back on the calendar.
One of the city’s best free activities is actually one of the park’s longest-running programs, and it’ll be ringing in its 32nd year starting June 9th. Drawing crowds by the thousands, these screenings range from new releases to oldies and everything in between. Trust us: when the Midtown greenscape transforms into an outdoor theater, it’s an experience you can’t miss.
“Each summer, we see strangers become neighbors on the lawn,” said Dan Biederman, president of Bryant Park Corporation. “Movie Nights remind us how powerful simple moments, like watching a great film outdoors, can be in bringing people together.”

The 2025 lineup has plenty to choose from, including 80s favorites, cult classics, and the mother of all films: The Godfather. The schedule is as follows:

- June 16th: The Wood
- June 23rd: Kinky Boots
- June 30th Stand by Me
- July 7th Good Will Hunting
- July 14th: Interstellar
- July 21st: Ghost
- July 28th: Pulp Fiction
- August 4th: Blades of Glory
- August 11th: The Godfather
What flicks are on your list? All of ’em? Can’t say we blame you!
Although the film typically begins around 8pm, the lawn will open at 5pm — and we’d highly recommend getting there early to secure a spot. As a reminder, there are no chairs, tables, or plastic ground coverings (including sheets, tarps, bags, or pads) are permitted on the grounds. Should you want to snack on something during the flick, Hester Street Fair will have a variety of vendors on-site with bites to purchase. (Of course, feel free to bring your own bites as well.)
Should a little rain get in the way, the screening will most likely go on; the lawn close and the seating will be on the gravel. However, should there be severe thunderstorm warnings, the movie will be delayed or cancelled.
And though we love a movie al fresco, don’t forget to explore the movies playing in New York theaters this summer, too!
