This year marks the 75th Birthday of Captain America! His home town of Brooklyn won’t miss the opportunity to celebrate one of their favorite sons… whether he is fictional or not! They will erect a giant statue of Captain America to honor the hero’s anniversary.
The 13-foot bronze statue will be debuted at San Diego Comic Con at the end of this month, then travel (by Quinjet?) to the east coast and land in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, on August 10th for a special dedication ceremony… will Stan Lee make a cameo? Only time will tell!
As you can see in the photo below, the statue will show Cap raising his shield in the air in an epic hero pose. The plinth will have a quote from Captain America: The First Avenger, “I’m just a kid from Brooklyn” and a depiction of Cap’s WWII era shield.
Next we want a Spiderman statue in Queens!
