This year marks the 17th annual Orchid Show at the Bronx Botanical Garden. You won’t want to miss this beautiful exhibition on display from February 23.
Each year, the New York Botanical Garden showcases one of the world’s most delicate flowers in a special show: the Orchid Show! This year, the theme for the annual display of these precious flowers is, Singapore, “City in a Garden.”
The national flower of Singapore is the Orchid and this year the NYBG, in partnership with Gardens by the Bay and Singapore Botanic Gardens, will pay homage to the iconic Supertrees (the dramatic vertical habitat famous in Singapore), and the Arches which are a highlight of the National Orchid Garden.
Thousands of dramatically displayed orchids will be on view at the NYBG Conservatory in a series of living sculptures. Examples of some of the rarest and most iconic orchids will be available to see and the exhibit will specifically focus on Singapore’s achievements in orchid cultivation.
Below are some images from last year’s show. We’re expecting this year to be just as beautiful!
We recommend that you try and make some time in your busy schedule this month to head to this gorgeous show. Taking a stroll through this gorgeous display of living artwork is the perfect way to spend the afternoon with friends, or on select nights, a romantic date. The exhibit will be on display from Saturday, February 23, 2019 – Sunday, April 28, 2019.
