Broadway theatres have been shut down since March 12; they were hoping to be back up and running by June 7, but now that has been extended.
The Broadway League just announced today, May 12, that Broadway shows in NYC will remain closed until September 6, 2020. There is no set date yet to reopen.
“With the ongoing suspension of Broadway performances due to COVID-19 continuing until further notice, the Broadway League is updating information regarding performance cancellations and ticketing protocol,” they said in a statement posted online. “While a date to resume performances is yet to be determined, Broadway theatres are now offering refunds and exchanges for tickets purchased for performances through September 6, 2020.”
You should receive an email this week about exchanges or refunds if you have tickets purchased through September 6. If you do not receive an email by May 18, you should check in with the platform you purchased the tickets from.
