The National Weather Service has released a blizzard warning. We could be getting between 12 – 18 inches of snow tomorrow.
Wipe that smug grin off your face, groundhog, we get it, six more weeks of winter… but this is ridiculous. A large storm (dubbed Stella) is due to dump between 12 and 18 inches of snow on the city tomorrow.
The state’s Emergency Operations Center will be activated tonight as the snow should start at around 2 am and keep on going through the night. It won’t let you off of the hook on Wednesday either, it’s set to start up again around 5 am and keep on falling until Thursday morning.
Yesterday, Governor Cuomo had this to say:
“We are closely monitoring this storm as it develops and I am directing all state agencies to be on alert and ready to respond as the weather develops.”
The amount of snow we get depends largely on how much is dumped as it travels up the east coast, either way, with winds gusting up to 40 mph, travelling will be dangerous so keep your eye’s open SecretNYCers!
