Digital art space ARTECHOUSE just unveiled the latest installation in their Chelsea Market exhibition, and it transports New Yorkers to a magical world of shimmering blue.
The installation is inspired by the Pantone 2020 Color of the Year, PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue. Called “Celestial,” the showcase uses state-of-the-art technology and design tools to truly immerse visitors in the color blue in all senses.
Each room will represent a different element of Classic Blue, from earth, to water, to air, fully leaning into the color’s qualities of peace and tranquility.

Blue is said to have a calm, relaxing effect on the human psyche, which is what PANTONE and ARTECHOUSE wanted to impart on visitors.
“During these unprecedented times as a society we have found ourselves in a new state of existence. Before 2020 even began, Pantone selected Classic Blue as the color of the year because they saw it as the hue to sustain us during a time of change,” said Sandro Keserelidze, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of ARTECHOUSE.
“2020 ended up bringing changes no one expected, making the hue of Classic Blue, and the qualities it represents, more relatable now than ever before. We couldn’t think of a more timeless and timely theme to end the year and launch a new chapter of experiences.”

While Artechouse has always had very high safety and hygiene standards, they have implemented even more COVID-19 safety measures like limited capacity, online bookings and contactless check-ins, face covering requirements for visitors and staff, hand sanitizer stations, and more.
The installation is open Monday through Thursday from 2pm to 10pm, and Friday-Sunday from 10am to 10pm. And it’s located in the former boiler room of Chelsea Market, at 439 W 15th St.
Submerge yourself in beautiful blue and get your tickets here! It will be open Oct. 22, 2020 – Jan. 3, 2021.
