A brand new season is in bloom, and so is the country’s largest collection of cherry blossoms! The best part? It’s much closer to NYC than you might think—just 30-minutes Manhattan!
Across the Hudson in Newark, New Jersey, lies Branch Brook Park, a hidden gem renowned for its breathtaking springtime display.
Home to over 5,000 cherry blossom trees spread across more than 80 acres, this park boasts the largest collection of cherry blossoms in the United States, surpassing even the famous Washington, D.C. National Cherry Blossom Festival in sheer numbers.
Designed in the early 20th century by renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, who co-designed Central Park, Branch Brook Park combines natural beauty with historical charm.
Stroll along its winding paths, cross scenic bridges, and enjoy serene lakes framed by vibrant pink and white blossoms. The park also features historic landmarks, including the elegant Cherry Blossom Gateway and several Victorian-era gazebos, making it perfect for both photography and peaceful springtime walks.
Coming up next week is their iconic B;loomfest, and this tear marks its 50th anniversary!
