Celebrations surrounding the 50th anniversary of hip-hop have been in full force around NYC–rightfully so considering the city is the birthplace of the genre. And now Brooklyn Lager is showing up to the party.
The brewing company, in celebration of both hip-hop’s 50th anniversary and their own 35th anniversary, has released a limited edition Notorious B.I.G. x Brooklyn Lager collection to pay homage to Notorious B.I.G.’s vibrant legacy.
The lager delivers the same taste that fans of the beer have been enjoying for three decades, but in a fresh, new can that features an iconic image of Biggie–capturing his larger-than-life persona.
The limited edition can coincides with an exclusive Notorious B.I.G. x Brooklyn Lager apparel collection which features item such as stickers, t-shirts, beanies, and more so you can sip in style.
This isn’t the first time NYC has recognized the legacy of the “King of New York.”
A 9-foot-tall sculpture of him was erected near the Brooklyn Bridge in January, a mural of him was unveiled on Fulton Street on March 9, the 26th anniversary of the legendary rapper’s death, and limited-time Biggie MetroCards were released last May for his 50th birthday.
To mark the launch of the Notorious B.I.G. limited edition Brooklyn Lager, Brooklyn Brewery is teaming up with acclaimed music journal Wax Poetics for a celebration honoring Biggie’s legacy.
The celebration, which takes place on September 13th and 14th, will be at the brewery and free to attend. You can RSVP in advance here.
Keep your eyes peeled in the supermarket for the Biggie Smalls lager–it’s only available while supplies last!
