Ice cream, anyone? Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day is making a return, and the tradition deserves a spot on your spring calendar.
Since 1979, the shop has been rewarding customers with complimentary scoops. Last year, customers stopped by in droves with a record one million+ free scoops awarded to visitors, which totaled an 80-mile-long trail, according to the brand! That’s a lot of cherry garcia and chunky monkey!
Dave Stever, Ben & Jerry’s CEO said in a statement, “This year, more than ever, we’re reminded how powerful those small moments of happiness can be. We can’t wait to connect with our fans over a scoop of ice cream on the most Ben & Jerry-est day of the year!”
Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day
Stop by your local shop on Tuesday, April 8th, to secure your scoops. You can find your local Ben & Jerry’s online and plan accordingly. The iconic ice cream shop has even kindly created calendar reminders for us. Quite generous!
If you’re feeling particularly famished on the 8th, there’s good news: while you are only entitled to one free scoop at a time, Ben & Jerry’s encourages customers to get back in line as many times as their hearts desire. All of the flavors are up for grabs. Will you go with a longstanding favorite, try something new, or do both?
While you wait for Free Cone Day, might we suggest getting a bit adventurous with your ice cream helpings? Surprise Scoop just opened in the East Village, and it’s considered the “world’s first flavor roulette ice cream shop.” All you do is press a few buttons on a kiosk and you’re given a mystery scoop from staffers from behind a door. Will you give it a go?
