Beetlejuice will put on its final performance on January 8, 2023, after less than four years on the Broadway stage.
Based on Tim Burton’s 1988 film, Beetlejuice tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple in her new home along with a demon who has an affinity for hijinx. Since its official opening night on April 25, 2019, the show has been putting on must-see performances, serving screamingly endless laughs and paranormal activity to its audiences.
According to the NY Times at the time of its closing Beetlejuice will have put on 679 performances, including the runs at both theaters.
But just because the ghost-with-the-most will leave the big stage doesn’t mean it’s your last chance to catch it!
The show recently announced its North American tour which will begin December of this year and visit cities including San Fransisco, Rochester, Charlotte, Buffalo, and Orlando. As of now the tour is set to end in October of 2023, but their website says to check back for more dates.
The final Broadway performance of Beetlejuice will take place on Sunday, January 8, 2023. Those who see it this month will receive a limited edition Playbill and can order a Halloween-themed cocktail at the concessions stand!
