NYC’s skyline is arguably the most recognizable in the world. With all the new buildings under construction and set to be built in the near future, it’s strange to think that in the next few years it will look completely different. The newest addition to our city’s iconic collection of skyscrapers is the Turkevi Center.
This week for a 32-story building will contain the consulate for the Republic of Turkey and will sit on First Ave near the United Nations. Although the tower wont reach the heights of other buildings around town, as you can see from the pictures, it’s unique look will make it stand out among it’s neighbors.
The building takes inspiration Islamic culture, from the curving exterior to the scrim in the lobby. The center is due to be completed in 2018, until then you’ll have to enjoy the images below.
