If you’ve ever lost your voice belting “Glamorous,” “Bring Me To Life,” and “The Climb” (we’ve been there–and we have all the videos from our beloved Baby Grand to prove it!), there’s a new West Village spot stepping up to the mic, and it’s about to take your karaoke obsession to a whole new level. Enter Beatbox, the city’s newest immersive karaoke bar opening November 1st—and it’s nothing like you’ve seen before.
Despite the name, beatboxing skills are not required (unless you’re feeling bold). Rather, Beatbox reimagines karaoke as a full-blown concert experience, blending recording studio intimacy, music video energy, and high-design hospitality into one unforgettable night out.
Founded by best friends Lannie Rosenfield and Sara Goodison, Beatbox aims to be “a cultural hub where music enthusiasts of all ages, from casual singers to die-hard fans, can come together to connect and celebrate.” Translation? Whether you’re the next Whitney or you’re keeping autotune in business–no shade, we all love Charli–you’ll feel like your name deserves to be up in lights.

The space features three private suites and multiple game modes, including:
- On Key – sing with notes and lyrics and compete to see who is the best singer
- Don’t Forget the Lyrics – AI-powered missing-word challenge
- Freestyle – classic, non-competitive play for a more relaxed, classic karaoke experience
There’s even optional autotune and vocal effects, the same kind used in professional studios, so you can sound like your best self (no matter how many cocktails deep you are).

And, speaking of cocktails, the food and drink program is just as much a star.
Created with Gadi Peleg (Breads Bakery, Stretch Pizza, Buba Bureka), the menu riffs on nostalgic comfort food—think pretzel bites, pigs in a blanket, and Karaoke Fries (their spin on Disco fries). Drinks range from Pandan Sours and Dirty Chais to crowd-pleasers like Rockstar Martinis and Sang-ria.
But what really steals the show is the design.
From the jewel-toned lounge lined with vinyl records and concert photography to the private suites decked out with 8×5-foot LED walls and theatrical lighting, every detail channels that “on tour” fantasy. The vibe lands somewhere between a rock star’s home studio and a backstage greenroom—perfect for impromptu encores.
Plus, for even more customization, guests can provide their music preferences at booking and the Beatbox team will generate a tailored playlist for the group. Once at the venue, the playlist can be imported into the room’s tracklist, making it easy to queue up favorites and even tag friends to sing along on certain songs.

Lannie Rosenfield stated:
Music is the ultimate connector. With Beatbox, we wanted to reimagine karaoke through the lens of interactivity. By developing proprietary software, we’ve created modes that…let guests perform without pressure. Pairing those features with real-time scoring and elevated production design turns each song into a shared experience that’s more engaging than a traditional karaoke night.
Located at 248 W 14th Street, Beatbox will host happy hours, themed nights, and artist-focused events tied to major album drops or anniversaries, as well as industry events, screenings, and viewing parties.

Whether it’s your next birthday bash or a spontaneous Friday night, you might just find yourself starring in your own music video. Learn more or book your session on their website.
