Unlike a traditional street fair packed with outside vendors, the Summer Stroll keeps the focus strictly on Bay Ridge.
It’s a hyper-local celebration. The restaurants and businesses serve right on the street. Local artists and musicians also come out to share their talents with the neighborhood.
What to expect this week
To give all businesses a chance to participate, the stroll shuts down different sections of the avenue each week.
This Friday, the massive block party will span from 82nd Street to 68th Street.
You can look forward to a parking lot orchestra, extended outdoor dining setups, and interactive games for all ages. It is the perfect excuse to taste foods from around the world while walking right down the center of the avenue.
A signature summer rhythm
Since launching in 2012, this event has become one of Bay Ridge’s most beloved traditions.
The consecutive schedule creates a steady rhythm for the neighborhood. It gives Brooklynites a reliable, safe space to gather and celebrate the warmest months of the year. If you can’t make it this week, there are still two more strolls planned through August 14.
Grab your friends, meet up on the avenue, and enjoy the very best of Brooklyn on foot!
