So without further ado, here are some of the best bars in New York City, recommended by our Secret Club members – from immersive speakeasies to rooptop bars, there’s something for everyone!
1. Little Dipper, Midtown

Tucked away in Midtown Manhattan, Little Dipper is an astronomy and astrology-inspired bar that invites you to ‘sip under the stars’ in more ways than one.
Despite being small in size, the bar’s celestial theme creates an intimate and immersive atmosphere that’s both cozy and welcoming, making it the perfect place to check over your horoscope with friends.
Secret Club member, Christine Arnemann, recommended this place for their unique cocktails and personable approach to mixology, stating: “A curated cocktail based on the relative positions of the stars and planets at the time of your birth? It’s the best!”
📍 135 W 30th St, New York, NY 10001.
2. Partea Lab, Midtown

Combining old-school speakeasy vibes with an electric cyberpunk energy, Partea Lab is an innovative hotspot inspired by night markets across the world.
Serving up Asian-influenced cocktails til’ late, sip on innovative drinks while playing arcade games and rallying the friends together for a night out in NYC.
One of our Secret Club members has a connection to this place, telling us: “It is a passion project I started with my friends. My favorite cocktail is the Taiwanese Breakfast which is red bean infused vodka, soy milk, and sesame served with a fried savory doughnut.”
📍 32 E 32nd St, New York, NY 10016.
3. Another Country, Union Square

Shrouded in this veiled allure, Another Country is an absolute must if you’re always on the hunt for NYC’s sleekest bars.
Famed for their fabulous cocktails, try out a couple of their crafty concoctions to get the buzz going, and kick-start the weekend in style.
Our Secret Club members swear by this place too, with Anita Tannis saying: “It’s a vinyl bar with knowledgeable bartenders, savory bar bites, and an owner with a massive record collection.”
📍 10 E 16th St, New York, NY 10003
4. UES, Upper East Side

Another speakeasy for good measure, UES is hidden inside an immersive ice cream shop, making it the perfect place for a cooling sugar rush before a couple of cocktails.
Although small in size, this place makes up for it in novelty alone, but the drinks and vibes are fabulous too.
Secret Club member Dori Tenenbaum told us, “The inside of the bar is beautiful. I love that there is decor everywhere, including the ceiling… Their drink menu is extensive and inventive. There are even drink options with ice cream!”
📍 1707 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10128.
5. Champagne Problems, Lower East Side

via the Secret Club (Circle)
Going from the Upper East Side to the Lower, Champagne Problems is the sister bar to the above UES. Instead of being hidden behind a wall of ice cream tubs, this beloved spot is hidden behind a bag of chips!
Don’t get too destracted by the drool-worthy options because what lies behind the wall is a wonderland of quirk and fun, with a magnificent cocktail menu to boot.
Dori also shared this rec, stating: “[Champagne Problems] is a champagne/jungle theme speakeasy playing Taylor Swift music. If that sounds like a lot, it’s because it is, but it’s super fun and kitschy.”
📍 207 Bowery, New York, NY 10002.
6. Aubi & Ramsa, several locations

While we’re on the topic of ice cream, it would be rude to ignore this fabulous Secret Club recommendation, being none other than the fabulous liqor and ice cream bar, Aubi & Ramsa.
Anita Tannis told the club: “They have a decent menu of alcohol infused ice creams and sorbets. I opted for the whiskey ice cream affogato. It was the perfect treat to accompany the amazing weather.”
📍 There are a couple Aubi & Ramsa locations across NYC. Find your nearest here.
7. IYKYK, Flushing

You should definetly know about IYKYK, a moody bar in Flushing that’ll have you flushing after a couple of their epic cocktails–and luckily for you, our Secret Club members know exactly what to order.
Member Christine A told the Secret Club: “I recommend the Tropic Thunder for a subtle kick of a cocktail or a Lychee Martini for a more mellow one.”
📍 35-28 Farrington St 1st Fl, Flushing, NY 11354.
8. Wallflower, Flatiron

Wallflower is a quaint hotel bar that exudes charm and sophistication on the edges of Flatiron, known for its creative cocktails and intimate setting.
Maria from the club told us: “So cute, intimate setting, adorable framed pics on the wall, as well as a live DJ!”
The Secret Club even recently teamed up with Wallflower, to provide our members with a hefty discount off their shareable punch bowls. To unlock awesome perks just like this, click here or the link below.
📍 37 West 24th Street, Flatiron, New York, 10010
9. Castell Rooftop Lounge, Garment District

Perched atop the AC Hotel in Times Square, Castell Rooftop Lounge is where classic cocktails meet unmatched views of the city skyline.
The bar pays homage to the timeless martini, offering a sophisticated ambience for a couple of cocktails with your besties.
Amanda Cheng, one of our sacred members, recommended this hotspot explaining: “No one ever gets tired of rooftop bars”—and we’d have to agree! Be sure to join the club to share your very-own NYC recommendations!
📍 AC Hotel, 260 W 40th St, New York, NY 10018.
10. City Beer, Murray Hill

If it’s craft beer you’re after, it doesn’t get much better than City Beer in Murray Hill. Enjoy a few ciders or beers over well-curated bar bites that compliment their beverages.
Alpo from the Secret Club told us: “Expect a great selection of craftbeers on tap. They also have ‘hard to find’ crafty cans/bottles for sale. If you like stuffed pretzels, Citybeer got you too.”
Stuffed pretzels?! Say no more… be sure to keep Citybeer in mind the next time you are in East Side Midtown.
