The anonymous and famous street artist Banksy gave us some of the most memorable moments and art and now there’s a museum filled with the largest collection of work inspired by his creations! Tickets to the Banksy Museum are available and it’s currently open now at 277 Canal Street!
At the exhibit see the largest collection of life-size murals ever reproduced! There are also immersive parts of the experience with projections and other visual elements. Explore Banksy art across 15,000 sq ft. of space, these life-sized works have to be seen in person!
Banksy’s sarcastic take on serious issues is what strikes viewers. “Girl With Balloon” is one of his most famous works and a heart-breaking scene of a red balloon escaping the grasp of a little girl’s hands with the words “There is always hope” written next to her.
In the most Banksy fashion, when the piece was auctioned off for over one million pounds a mechanical shredder in the frame completely shredded the artwork! In pieces, the new piece was humorously named “Love is in the bin.”
See 160 pieces of Banksy-inspired art both notable and lesser known works. His powerful graffiti is his creative commentary on major topics such as poverty, corporate greed, war and injustices in society. His art made the world stop and wonder for years and it still has the same effect on people today!
Other recreations on display include other favorites including “Flower Thrower,” “Coppers Kissing,” “Sweet It Under The Carpet” and “Follow Your Dreams” just to name a few.
Adult tickets start at $30. Reduced tickets are available for teachers, students and seniors (60+).
