NYC businesses are continuing to do their part locally to support war-torn Ukraine, and perhaps one of the biggest efforts thus far is coming from the iconic SoHo brasserie, Balthazar.
Famed New York restauranteur Keith McNally (who also owns Pastis and Minetta Tavern) posted on the Balthazar Instagram account today, stating that “every penny that Balthazar takes in at dinner” tomorrow, Tuesday, March 8 will be donated directly to UNICEF’s Protect Children in Ukraine. According to the UNICEF website, these donations will “will help UNICEF ensure that Ukraine’s children have access to safe water, nutrition, health care, education and protection.”
He stated that on an average Tuesday, the restaurant will make between $35,000 and $40,000. And he will publish the total donation made the next day.
