This installation down on Water Street is a colorful, vibrant series of sculptures that you can walk and climb through!
Located at 200 Water St. in South Street Seaport, the colorful new art installation “Ziggy” was created by New York-based architecture, art and design studio Hou de Sousa.
Look familiar? That’s because it’s the same display that was last year’s Flatiron Holiday Art installation! It has been reconfigured slightly for the new space.
The sculpture is made of rebar painted in a variety of bright colors, along with 27,000 feet of iridescent cord.
Because of its winding frame, you can look up and view all of the downtown sights in a much different light (literally!). There are even sections for sitting if you want to take a rest.
The sculpture will be on view from now through January 2021, open to the public daily with weather permitting. Even during the day without the lights, it’s still quite the colorful sight!
