New York City’s Arlo Hotels have transformed into a cozy winter oasis for the season—an experience they’re calling Arlo Arctica.
Arlo Arctica is a collaboration between Arlo Hotels and Shackleton Whisky to bring the Shackleton Antarctica Expedition of 1907 to life in NYC. The experience transports guests to The South Pole with cozy heated ice huts and a winter den that offers shearling blankets and a warm fireplace.
Arlo NoMad is already open for the season, with the ice huts ready for guests on their rooftop bar, The Heights. According to their press release:
The BARlo terrace is outfitted in Shackleton artifacts, ice sculptures, a fireplace and welcoming camp-like furnishings. Guests can order from the exclusive Arlo Arctica menu, offering carefully-curated Shackleton Whisky cocktails, like the 88 Degrees South (made with lemon, lime and Angostura bitters) and Royds Toddy (made with Earl Grey tea, lemon and cloves), as well as a South Pole Pizza with Béchamel sauce, onions, Fontina and pancetta.
