Arcade Fire graced the stage at Bowery Ballroom with four surprise performances last weekend. The unexpected concerts were put on as benefit shows to help raise money for the Ukraine Relief Fund.
It was the first time the band had played at Bowery Ballroom since 2004, reports Brooklyn Vegan. The band shared to their Instagram the day of each show, and had concert goers pay what they could.
The jam-packed weekend came after the recent announcement of their newest album WE. Fans were sent on a hunt all weekend long across numerous NYC parks for a chance to get their hands on the limited amount of wristbands available for each show. Donations were required at the door.
After their Friday night concert, Arcade Fire carried on their performance by taking to NYC streets and heading to the Bowery subway station. Tons of fans followed them through the streets and down the stairs, elated by the seemingly never-ending surprises Arcade Fire brought to NYC this past weekend.
