Just when we thought the city’s sushi game couldn’t get more over-the-top, a new spot in Flatiron welcomes a jaw-dropping new arrival.
Aqua New York, a two-cuisine concept from the international Aqua Restaurant Group, just opened the city’s longest sushi bar, stretching an impressive 77 feet inside their expansive location at 902 Broadway.
The new sushi bar is part of Aqua Kyoto, the Japanese half of Aqua’s dual-dining concept that also includes Aqua Roma, its Italian counterpart!
Serving both Japanese and Italian under one roof, guest can literally order from a single menu that reads from one end to the other—Italian from front to back, and Japanese from back to front, in traditional Japanese style
At the heart of it all is the 22-seat sushi bar, where guests can opt for the 10-course omakase menu ($158) from Aqua Kyoto, featuring chef-led offerings like White Miso Soup with Chives, Scallop & Caviar Crystal Sushi wrapped in kimchi jelly, plus a sushi and sashimi platter, Miso Black Cod, and the ultra-Instagrammable dessert known as The Forest Floor (think matcha crumble and raspberry sorbet).
Not to mention, Aqua also serves daily lunch, weekend brunch, and an elegant dinner menu featuring both cuisines.
And don’t skip the Aqua Spirit bar—an eye-popping, sea-toned cocktail lounge with a 44-seat oval bar (yes, also possibly the longest in NYC) with sake flights, fat-washed negronis, yuzu mimosas, and an entire happy hour lineup that runs daily from noon to 6 pm.
The opening (which happened in late 2024) marks Aqua’s first U.S. location and 24th worldwide, joining the ranks of Aqua’s celebrated restaurants in London and Hong Kong.
With 432 seats, three private dining rooms, and design details that range from temple lanterns to modern Italian blue hues, Aqua is equal parts dining and design destination.
Reservations are now open—and let’s just say, this isn’t your average sushi spot.
