Our favorite suburban retail chain is sticking to their promise and opening new locations this week!
Earlier this year Target announced they’d open four new locations throughout NYC over the course of the next few years. Two of the four are opening this Wednesday in Midtown Manhattan and Bensonhurst Brooklyn.
While both have been excitingly anticipated since the announcement, the Herald Square opening is particularly noteworthy. Until now there have only been two Targets in Manhattan, in Harlem and Tribeca. And the one in Tribeca only opened at the end of last year!
Manhattan’s third Target retail shop is set to open on Wednesday, October 18. The space across from Macy’s on West 34th Street will be a massive 43,000 square feet!
Here are some of the renderings of what the store will look like (although we won’t have to wait long to find out for ourselves):
The store will have two levels, a grocery section, online order pickup area, a CVS Pharmacy, and store entrances on both 34th and 33rd Street—not to mention the standard items you’d find at Target such as household and clothing items.
Bensonhurst’s Wednesday opening will be Target’s 8th in total for New York. Future openings also include an East Village shop to open in 2018, and a store in Hell’s Kitchen expected to open in 2019.
Happy shopping!
