The 2025 Oscars came and went last night and one NYC-set film Anora struck gold by winning 5 different awards, including the coveted ‘Best Picture of the Year’ award.
Mikey Madison stars as a Brooklyn stripper ‘Anora’ who meets the son of a Russian oligarch at her club in Midtown Manhattan. After the two fall in love, their cinderella story all comes tumbling down as the logistics of their relationship come crashing down.
Madison (who also took home the Best Leading Actress award) can be seen all around Brooklyn in the film, specifically in the Coney Island, Brighton Beach, and Sheepshead Bay neighborhoods throughout the film.
The heavily Russian-populated area made it a seamless spot to fit the narrative. We’ve compiled all of the noteworthy spots that can be seen in the award-winning piece!
Anora’s House
Anora’s home apartment where she lived with her sister in the beginning of the movie sits right in the heart of Brighton Beach, just a couple of blocks off the shoreline.
It also sits right in front of the B/Q above-ground train line that can be seen multiple times throughout the movie as she sits on her porch.

Ivan’s Mansion
Ivan’s swanky mansion (or that of his father’s which we later find out) is near Brighton Beach in the neighborhood of Mill Basin. The town sits on the peninsula that sits next to Jamaica Bay…which can be seen plenty of times along with bridge views out of the master bedroom.

HQ KONY Gentleman’s Club
Anora’s strip club where she’s employed is actually in Manhattan and is often referred to as “HQ” in the movie. This spot is of course a huge part of the movie…where she Met Vanya, nearly fought her coworker Diamond, and even found Vanya at the very end.

William’s Candy Shop
This beloved candy spot has been around for nearly 85 years and serves as a filming spot during a crucial part of the film. The candy shop on the corner of Surf Avenue actually ends up getting destroyed.

The Beach
There’s plenty of Brighton Beach on display throughout the movie, from walking on the beach to strolling by the Coney Island Cyclone on the boardwalk.

Parkview Diner
Parkview Diner is the spot of “the last meal” if you will before the crew eventually finds Vanya on the run. The nostalgic and retro diner is key to the final plot point of finding the Russian son.

Subway Station
From sleeping on the train to hopping off the subway, transportation is featured throughout Anora, specifically the Brighton Beach B/Q station, which resides right next to her home.

Court
One of the movie’s climaxes unfolded at the New York County Courthouse in Lower Manhattan. After the massive goose chase, the couple is brought to this court to get an official divorce in the works.

Tatiana Grill
This iconic restaurant on the Brighton Beach boardwalk can be seen during the pursuit for Vanya, when Toros makes a fool asking everyone in the restaurant if they’ve seen Vanya. The waterfront restaurant is literally iconic, serving Russian, Ukrainian, and American food.
