MTV is creating an official “Museum of Missy Elliott” in New York City, and it’s only here for a couple of days.
Opening on Saturday (August 24) and running through Sunday (August 25), the museum dedicated to Melissa Arnette (Missy Elliott) will take over the space at 632 Broadway. The pop-up museum honoring the award-winning artist is taking place on the days leading up to her receiving the Michael Jackson MTV Video Vanguard Award at the VMA’s next Monday.
The “Museum of Missy Elliott” has been created in partnership with Pepsi and will highlight Missy’s successful career to bring fans a unique interactive experience. The social media-worthy event will also include installations that spotlight the creative visionaries behind some of Missy’s most iconic videos, like June Ambrose, Hype Williams, Dave Myers, HiHat, Billy B and Gloria Elias-Foeillet.
The space will be open from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday, and from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday.
