Alexa Meade has officially secured the best studio spot in NYC! This spring, Meade announced that she is the new Artist in Residence at the World Trade Center. With 80 stories of floor-to-ceiling windows, 3 World Trade Center offers up incredible lighting and stunning views – truly an artist’s dream location! And with her studio on the 79th floor, Meade has one of the most coveted spots in the building.
Recognized by many from her hand-painted immersive art exhibit near Bryant Park, Meade can turn anything into a canvas by painting directly onto the human body and three-dimensional spaces. If you haven’t visited Wonderland Dreams yourself, be sure to plan a trip before the exhibit closes next month!
Inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, the whimsical 26,000-square-foot exhibit invites you to step inside the artwork and enter a world filled with mad tea parties, secret rose gardens and other dazzling dreamscapes!
Beyond her marvelous Wonderland Dreams exhibition, you may recognize Alexa Meade’s distinct style from Ariana Grande’s “God Is A Woman” music video. Here, Meade implements her body painting technique by covering Grande in stunning purple tones as she lays back in a pool swirling with blue and purple paint.
We cannot wait to see what Meade produces next, and her residency at 3 World Trade Center is bound to get the creativity flowing. In the meantime, be sure to check out Wonderland Dreams at 5th Avenue and 44th Street before it closes.
