A powerful winter storm that brought heavy snow, high winds, and brutal cold to most of the US made holiday traveling virtually impossible, and NYC’s airports are still experiencing pretty miserable service.
According to FlightAware, which shares the status of flights around the country, several arriving and departing flights were still being affected as of this morning, Wednesday, December 28–days after the storm first touched down.
JFK experienced 24 cancellations today, along with 164 total delays while those flying in and out of LaGuardia were affected by 80 delays and 66 cancellations.
All the delays and cancellations even landed NYC on FlightAware’s “Misery Map” for the majority of today, due to disruptions at JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark airports.
To those traveling–we hope all the flight madness gets figured out soon and that you have a safe trip!
