In the spirit of World Pride, Battery Park City has painted their Rockefeller Park lawn rainbow!
The large scale rainbow is a massive 10,000-square-foot Pride Flag that was recently painted onto the north lawn of the park. The 130- by 80-foot flag is a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising is addition to Battery Park City Authority’s “commitment to diversity and equality.”
People are welcome to interact with the rainbow lawn by sitting on it, enjoying a picnic, and of course taking photos with it. The lawn is open daily until dusk, and the giant rainbow will be on display until sometime in July (with occasional touchups as necessary).
