A Breathtaking New Planetarium Space Show Premieres At The Museum Of Natural History

In honor of the museum’s 150th anniversary, the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History will get its first new show in several years!

Worlds Beyond Earth is the Hayden Planetarium’s newest space show which premiered on Tuesday, January 21. Narrated by the Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o, it explores “surprisingly dynamic nature of the worlds that share our solar system and the unique conditions that make life on Earth possible.”

Visitors will follow the evolution of our solar system over the last 50 years, taking a deeper dive into groundbreaking space missions and giving an “immersive visualization of distant worlds.” You’ll be able to see planets, Earth’s magnetic field, and so much more at a scale that’ll blow you away.

Worlds Beyond Earth will be the first new show to take place in the planetarium since 2013 and only the second to be displayed on the new screening system (which is also the world’s most advanced planetarium projection system).

Worlds Beyond Earth is open every half hour from 10:30am until 4pm from Mondays through Fridays, and every half hour from 10:30am until 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The show runs for 25 minutes.  Get your tickets and find out more, here.
