New York has a wine bar for every mood, but your next date night doesn’t have to mean shouting over a crowded room in the West Village. Candlelight Wine NYC is heading to Arlo Williamsburg for an evening of selected wines, live classical music and a little less city noise. A professional string quartet provides the soundtrack, with one of the musicians guiding you through each pour—all in a candlelit Brooklyn setting with zero lecture vibes. What is Candlelight Wine?
Candlelight Wine is a 70-minute tasting experience that pairs expert-selected wines with live classical music from a professional string quartet, all in Candlelight’s signature candlelit setting. And the person walking you through every glass? One of the musicians. Each wine gets its own introduction and its own live piece, so you’re tasting and listening at the same time. Sounds like a very civilized evening, right?

Arlo Williamsburg: a Brooklyn hotel with skyline swagger in NYC
The candles are heading to Arlo Williamsburg, an eight-story brick hotel in Brooklyn. It opened in 2017 as The Williamsburg Hotel and became Arlo in 2023—and today it’s known for its Water Tower rooftop bar and its views across to Manhattan and the Williamsburg Bridge. Not a bad backdrop for a brand-new kind of tasting.
Sign up for the waitlist now to get exclusive presale access on October 27, a day before tickets go on sale to everyone else on October 28. The first evening is November 28, and it’s strictly 21+. Get on the list—your future self (and your date) will thank you.
