Já se passaram três anos desde a última vez que o público teve permissão para explorar os níveis superiores do Vessel, uma escultura de 150 pés projetada pelo Heatherwick Studio no coração de Hudson Yards.
Em abril, foi anunciado que o Vessel seria reaberto ainda este ano, mas, na época, não havia uma data definida.
*Aviso de gatilho* A empresa imobiliária Related Companies validou que o monumento reabrirá suas seções de nível superior que foram reformadas com barreiras de malha de aço, estendendo-se do chão ao teto. Esses novos recursos de segurança foram criados após os trágicos suicídios ocorridos em 2021.
Como é impossível instalar as mesmas barreiras de aço no nível superior do The Vessel, essa seção da escultura escalável permanecerá fechada ao público.
“Não há um dia sequer em que não tenhamos visitantes perguntando à nossa equipe onde podem comprar ingressos e quando será reaberto… esse interesse não diminuiu durante o tempo em que estivemos fechados e estamos animados para receber convidados de todo o mundo de volta ao Vessel com medidas de segurança adicionais em vigor, disse o CEO da Related Companies, Jeff T. Blau.”
O Vessel estreou pela primeira vez em 2019. Os visitantes interessados em ir aos níveis recém-reabertos do Vessel precisarão comprar ingressos on-line.
