1. Hoffnung für New York
Seit über 25 Jahren ist die Kampagne His Toy Store von Hope for New York ein jährliches Weihnachtsprogramm, das bedürftigen Familien Spielzeug zur Verfügung stellt. Auch in diesem Jahr werden wieder 150.000 Dollar für die Einrichtung von Spielzeugläden vor Ort und andere Weihnachtsgeschenke für Kinder gesammelt. Von jetzt an bis zum ersten Weihnachtsfeiertag können Sie für diese großartige Sache spenden oder als Freiwilliger vor Ort in ganz New York helfen (von Harlem über Crown Heights bis zur Upper West Side und darüber hinaus!) 2. New York Cares Mantelaktion
New York Cares sorgt dafür, dass alle New Yorkerinnen und New Yorker in diesem Winter warm haben und startet eine großzügige Mantelaktion in der ganzen Stadt! Mit der Hilfe von WE ❤️ NYC und den New Yorker Sportteams soll die bisher größte Mantelaktion durchgeführt werden! Bis zum 31. Dezember können Sie jemanden wärmen, indem Sie einen Mantel (oder mehrere!) bei einer örtlichen Abgabestelle abgeben, an einem dieser Standorte ehrenamtlich mitarbeiten oder Ihre eigene virtuelle Spendenaktion starten (jede 25 $ gehen in einen Mantel). 3. Wir bringen Gottes Liebe
God’s Love We Deliver sucht Helfer für ihr jährliches Winterfest, bei dem Sie in der Küche zusätzliche Schichten zur Essenszubereitung übernehmen, von zu Hause aus Tragetaschen für die Feiertage dekorieren oder mit Freunden und Familie Mahlzeiten ausliefern können. 4. Koalition für Obdachlose
Die Obdachlosenorganisation Coalition of the Homeless hat vor kurzem ihre Weihnachtsspielzeugaktion mit dem Ziel eröffnet, 10 000 Geschenke für Kinder und Jugendliche in städtischen Unterkünften zu sammeln. Angesichts von über 30.000 Kindern, die während der Weihnachtszeit in Obdachlosenheimen leben, ist es ihr Ziel, Spielzeug zu sammeln, das zu Weihnachten an die Heime geliefert wird. Dieses landesweite Programm ist immer auf der Suche nach neuen, unverpackten Spielsachen für Kinder und nach Freiwilligen, die beim Sammeln helfen. 6. Die Bowery-Mission
Engagieren Sie sich in dieser Weihnachtszeit freiwillig bei der Bowery Mission und helfen Sie mit, Festtagsessen an bedürftige New Yorker zu verteilen. Die Bowery Mission hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, Obdachlose und Hungernde in der Weihnachtszeit mit Essen zu versorgen, und Sie können entweder als Freiwilliger bei der Essenszubereitung helfen oder für diesen Zweck spenden. Citymeals on Wheels hat im letzten Jahr über 39.000 Mahlzeiten geliefert und ist eine großartige Wohltätigkeitsorganisation, die man in der Weihnachtszeit unterstützen kann. Citymeals hilft dabei, älteren Erwachsenen, die allein leben oder an ihr Zuhause gebunden sind, festliche Weihnachtsmahlzeiten nach Hause zu liefern. 8. Masbia-Suppenküchen-Netzwerk
Diese gemeinnützige Organisation hat 2 Standorte in Queens und Brooklyn und serviert von Sonntag bis Donnerstag warme Mahlzeiten für alle, die kommen. Freiwillige Helfer müssen mindestens 12 Jahre alt sein (in Begleitung eines Elternteils) und können auf unterschiedlichste Weise mithelfen, z.
