1. Lago Canopus
O Canopus Lake está localizado no Fahnestock State Park e fica a cerca de uma hora de Nova York! O lago de 100 acres tem uma grande praia de areia e área de natação. É mais popular para passear de barco e pescar do que para nadar, mas há uma praia considerável na qual você pode mergulhar os pés! Se estiver realmente disposto a isso, você pode passar a noite em seus adoráveis acampamentos ou até mesmo fazer uma trilha de caminhada panorâmica.

2. Lago Marcia
O Lake Marcia, no condado de Sussex, Nova Jersey, fica aberto durante todo o verão até o fim de semana do Dia do Trabalho! O lago de 20 acres e a praia de areia são protegidos por salva-vidas e ficam bem perto do High Point State Park e do New Jersey Veterans’ Memorial. Com mais de 50 trilhas nas proximidades, esse pequeno oásis oferece oportunidades de natação, vistas deslumbrantes do monumento, oportunidades para pesca e passeios de barco, e muito mais. Há até mesmo uma casa de banhos e uma barraca de concessão.

3. Lago Welch
Esse lago artificial no Harriman State Park tem uma praia de 800 metros de extensão na qual você pode nadar durante todo o verão! Ele fica no sopé da Montanha Ramapo, e sua praia espaçosa é um ótimo lugar para nadar, passear de barco e pescar. Há um amplo estacionamento, a praia é muito bem cuidada e há um Beaver Pond Campground vizinho onde você pode fazer churrasco, caminhar e acampar.

4. Lago Norte-Sul
Um dos maiores e mais populares lagos da Catskill Mountain é o North-South Lake, que, como você pode imaginar, engloba dois lagos enormes em um só. Para nadar, você pode fazê-lo em uma das duas praias (se houver salva-vidas de plantão), mas há muito mais. O acampamento próximo oferece 219 locais para barracas e trailers, áreas para piquenique, circuitos de acampamento, trilhas, pontos de pesca e muito mais.

5. Lago Wawayanda
Do fim de semana do Memorial Day ao Labor Day, você pode nadar no Lake Wawayanda quando os salva-vidas estiverem de plantão! Há trilhas nas proximidades (parte da Appalachian Trail), um local próximo para aluguel de barcos (não no parque propriamente dito) e pontos de acampamento para passar a noite. 6. Lago Greenwood
O parque à beira-mar em Greenwood Lake, NY, é um pequeno e bonito local com areia onde você pode nadar durante o verão. 8. Lago Tiorati
Esse lago que aceita cães tem uma praia de areia que você pode visitar durante o verão, além de muitos prados e colinas para contemplar nesse meio tempo. Está localizado no Harriman State Park e inclui pontos de pesca acessíveis, churrasqueiras, trilhas para caminhadas e uma casa de banho com banheiros e chuveiros. 9. Lago Bantam
