De acordo com o Farmer’s Almanac, a previsão é que NYC receba sua primeira geada em 14 de novembro de 2024. Isso significa que só temos mais um mês antes que o inverno chegue!
No entanto, ontem à noite foi por pouco, pois algumas partes da região dos três estados estavam sob aviso de geada devido à redução das temperaturas.
O que é considerado geada?
É importante observar que a geada é diferente da neve. A geada pode ser esperada sempre que a temperatura estiver em um ponto de congelamento, ou seja, 32°F (0°C). No entanto, o Farmer’s Almanac explica que, às vezes, pode ocorrer uma geada com temperaturas acima de zero, dependendo do resfriamento radiativo. Congelamento moderado
Um congelamento moderado ocorre quando as temperaturas estão entre 25°F e 28°F. Essas temperaturas danificam a maior parte da vegetação, especialmente as flores de frutas e as plantas tenras e semi-resistentes.
Congelamento severo:
Um congelamento severo ocorre quando as temperaturas estão entre 24°F e menos. A maioria das plantas é danificada nessas condições.
