Popular Asian grocery store chain 99 Ranch Market announced on Tuesday, April 5th that it will be opening its first NY location at at 1500 Old Country Rd, #112 in Westbury, Long Island this weekend. Customers are invited to the grand opening on Saturday, April 9th, beginning at 9 am.
Less than an hour from the city, the store will take over 45,590 sq. ft. of the Samanea New York mall. According to The Real Deal, the opening of 99 Ranch Market hopes to offset the Long Island mall’s steep vacancy rate.
The popular Asian grocery chain came about in 1984 in Southern California by Taiwanese immigrant, Mr. Roger Chen. He noticed there was a need for an Asian grocer within the American market, and thus created 99 Ranch Market. The grocery chain is now one of the largest Asian grocers in the nation, with 54 stores in 10 different states.
“99 Ranch attaches great importance to its very first store in New York. It is determined to bring the culture of Asia to the unparalleled location, the village of Westbury, which is accessible to everything that Long Island and New York have to offer.”
The first 100 customers on grand opening weekend (4/9-4/10) of the new store will receive a special goodie bag. *Same day purchase receipt and redemption voucher required.
But don’t stress if you’re not part of the first 100 because 99 Ranch Market will be hosting exciting activities all weekend long, including a Lion Dance, DJ performance, Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, and Balloon Twisting.
Consumers will be able to shop over 10,000 unique global products across various departments including: Grocery, Produce, Meats, Live Seafood, Full-Service Bakery, and Hot Deli.
