If you’re Queens-bound come 5pm, you might want to start considering an alternate route home from work.
The MTA will be suspending rush hour 7 express trains from October 27th through November 21st, according to amNY. During this time, there will be no rush hour trains in either direction (Manhattan or Queens) as workers replace the tracks, which are over 100 years old.
Should you be one of the ones affected by this planned work, we’ll tell you what you need to know.
Rush hour 7 express trains will be suspended for four weeks
The 7 line, both local and express, have been tricky as of late.
The MTA plans to implement additional morning and afternoon rides, but do keep in mind, local 7 train stops that have been bypassed for construction will still be skipped during this time: Manhattan-bound 52nd Street and 69th Street.
Additionally, the work at 61st Street and 74th Street stations, which was supposed to be set this year, have been extended into 2026.
This is a developing story. Please check back for more information.
