It’s official: Joe Biden will be our 46th President of the United States, and Kamala Harris will be our first woman Vice President.
The Associated Press declared the news only a short while ago, and New Yorkers are making their feelings clear!
In all parts of the city cheers and celebrations have erupted, from Times Square to the East Village. Tons of cars beeped their horns to be part of the celebration.
See the pure and utter joy here:

And it wasn’t even the first moment. Even though last night there was no official call yet, New Yorkers began celebrating early in Washington Square Park last night. Videos from the night showed New Yorkers in a joyous and jubilant mood, dancing, jumping and singing their hearts out. Chants of “Get Out (Donald Trump)” and the song “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye” could be heard in the background:
Looks like the Washington Square Park celebration for the (presumed) defeat of the Donald Trump is in full swing. https://t.co/vSeqs7P1H8
