Tomorrow, San Francisco’s go-to Greek food eatery, Souvla, comes to New York City but only until Friday afternoon… the good news? There is FREE delivery. Here’s everything you need to know.
New York City has seen some of the most amazing pop-up eateries grace its streets, a new Greek food popup opening tomorrow and Friday is no exception. Not only do we get some new food to try, it’s bringing free delivery via Caviar. Opa!
A beloved upscale fast-casual San Francisco chain is bringing is famous greek inspired wraps to the city. Souvla is partnering with Caviar to create a delivery-only pop-up for two days this week.
The Souvla pop-up will run on Thursday and Friday for lunch (from 11 am to 3 pm) and dinner (5 pm to 9 pm) with free delivery across much of Manhattan (up to around 70th Street).
Why delivery only and why the partnership? Simple, Souvla is one Caviar’s most popular restaurants in San Francisco. A fact that was recently covered in an article by Eater:
For Souvla […] delivery has grown into one of the pillars of its business. When Souvla’s first store opened back in 2014, delivery wasn’t even a twinkle in owner Charles Bililies’ eye. […] Now, Bililies says, delivery makes up nearly one-fourth of Souvla’s total business; it’s one of the most-ordered-from restaurants in San Francisco on the Caviar app.
What can we expect from Souvla? The chain specializes in souvlaki, a popular Greek fast food consisting of small pieces of meat and sometimes vegetables grilled and served with grilled bread, or in a pita wrap with garnishes and sauces and seasonings.
Can Caviar knock Seamless and GrubHub off of the throne as kings of NYC food delivery? That remains to be seen. But one thing is for sure, Souvla is only around for a few days, and they are definitely worth a try. Καλή όρεξη!
