Wait, what season is it again? This is the warmest November ever, and these high temperatures might have you doing some strange things, like…
1. Ride a bike
[Central Park Bike and Roll]Even though you haven’t been on a bike in years, all of a sudden this warm fall weather makes you want to hop right on. If you’ve been bitten by the biking bug, you can get a sweet deal on a Central Park rental here. Remember to wear your helmet!
2. Go the distance…to the subway
You could get on the 6 right here and transfer later, or you could walk a few blocks and get the Q. When the weather is so mild, why not walk?
3. Wear short sleeves
[Sam Figueroa/Flickr]Just when you thought you could take out your sweaters and put your short sleeves away… You’re digging at the bottom of your drawers in the morning for your favorite T-shirt, because the temperature will be perfect for it.
4. Yacht parties…in November
[Hornblower]They run all year, but they’re much better when the weather is nicer, like it will be this weekend. Might as well enjoy a booze cruise while you can.
5. Put off your Netflix marathons
[Ginny/Flickr]This would normally be the time of year when you get settled on your couch and watch the episodes you’ve been meaning to catch up on. But Arrested Development can wait. Right now you need to get your fresh air. Well, as fresh as it can be when it’s layered with that burning garbage smell.
6. Go to Coney Island
I mean, you would never go in the summer when it’s insane, so why not make a visit now?
7. Get cocktails at a rooftop bar
[Addison Group NYC]Usually you need to wear those funny-looking bathrobes to stay warm on an NYC rooftop at this time of year. But with the temperature being so mild lately, maybe you won’t have to look like you’re all partying in your pajamas on Sunday morning!
8. Wine tasting
Maybe it’s not such a crazy thing to do in the fall, but usually by November it’s pretty chilly to be traipsing around in the vineyards. But hey, if this keeps up, you can go this weekend!
9. Get inspired to run the New York Marathon next year
[Wikipedia]We’ll see how long that goal lasts…
10. Put off making your holiday plans
[Michael Romero/Flickr]It’s just not cold enough yet. The decorations, the sweater party guest list, the playlists, and the plane tickets can all wait until the weather gets you in the mood. Actually that last one you might not want to wait on.
11. Crave more pumpkin
[Michelle Schrank/Flickr]Usually we’re moving from pumpkin to peppermint cravings at this time of year. But the colors of the leaves and the mild temperatures have you like: KEEP THE PUMPKIN COMING.
12. Play flag football and Ultimate Frisbee
[Wikimedia Commons]Again, even if you’ve never played these sports before and you’re not even at all athletic, this weather just makes you want to get those pickup games going in the park.
13. Go to the Statue of Liberty
Lol jokes…don’t ever do this. It’s a tourist death trap no matter what the weather’s like.
