Whenever your team doesn’t make it to the Super Bowl (or very far at all, as New Yorkers are familiar with) you need to decide which of the two teams you’re going to root for. Yes, you do have to pick one. It makes the parties so much more interesting.
So which should you choose?
Here are the pros and cons of rooting for the Panthers:
Pro: Panthers are geographically closer to NYC than the Broncos are.
Con: That’s a stupid reason to root for them.
Pro: It’s more fun to root for the underdog.
Con: Are they still the underdog if they’re favored to win?
Pro: Panthers are cooler animals than broncos.
Con: This point is easily up for debate.
Now, here are the pros and cons of rooting for the Broncos:
Pro: Peyton Manning is Eli Manning’s brother.
Con: He can just never quite recover from those injuries…
Pro: It’s more fun to root for the underdog.
Con: Are they still the underdog if they’ve won more Super Bowls?
Pro: Orange is easier to spot on the field.
Con: You’re revealing your gross lack of knowledge about football if you choose this reason.
So there you have it. The final decision is up to you. Let’s just be thankful the Patriots aren’t playing.
