If you want to see Tony-award winner Ben Platt belt out “Waving Through a Window” on stage you now have a short window to do so.
Platt will say goodbye to Dear Evan Hansen on November 19 after playing the role of Evan since the show’s very beginning in 2015—way before it hit Broadway in November 2016. He confirmed the news of his departure via twitter earlier this week.
2 readings, 2 workshops, 3 productions and almost 4 years- hard to fathom that's it's nearly time to say goodbye to Evan and my DEH family. https://t.co/2Pnx0HmILR

The show won six Tony Awards this year including Best Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Performance of an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical. Ben Platt’s role—an anxious and outcasted teenager who suddenly becomes popular after a lie gets out that he doesn’t correct—put him on a new platform of stardom. Prior to DEH he played Benji in Pitch Perfect and performed in The Book of Mormon as Elder Arnold Cunningham.
