It may look like the product of putting a smurf in a blender, but according to The End in Brooklyn, this blue-green algae based coffee (?) could be the healthiest thing you put in your body this week.

What makes the drink so healthy? Apparently it’s the algae. In the words of the Global Healing Center:

Organic blue-green algae is one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. Two varieties, spirulina and Aphanizomenon flos-aquae, are the most consumed forms of blue green algae; which has superfood status due to high concentrations of proteins, vitamins and nutrients.

So there you go, it’s a superfood containing protein and over 65 kinds of vitamin, mix that with the lemon, ginger, honey, and coconut milk, it tastes delicious too!

But will it be a success in Brooklyn? We’d hazard a guess and say, yes. Not only is it Vegan friendly and tasty, we all know how quick we are to adopt the next big food/drink craze, especially when it promises to be a good healthy option for a quick morning pick-me-up.
